Such tragic and devastating news :(

Last thursday (28th March), a MASSIVE gust of wing brought down a brick wall on Swanston st and pinned 3 people in the rubble.

Where exactly was this brick wall? It’s at the Queensberry St tram stop, along the side of Queensberry Hotel.

19 year old, Alexander Jones and a woman in her 30s (yet to be formally identified) were killed in the collapse. And 18 year old, Bridget Jones was rushed to hospital with critical injuries, but has unfortunately passed away this morning.

Alexander and Bridget Jones were both fellow Melbourne Uni Arts students.

It’s such a tragedy. They were just innocent people walking along Swantson st, who just happened to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

What really hit home, is that it could’ve been ANYONE. A lot of my friends and myself walk along that street all the time. I don’t know if it’s the same one, but there was a really crazy gust of wind that hit uni at around 2-3pm. The insides of Baldwin Spencer shook! And at the time, I was worried about the Architecture Building since it’s still under construction and there’s debris everywhere around the site.

My thoughts go to the Jones’ family and friends at this very tough time :(
