Guess what? The new student portal is kicking in tomorrow! Horray!
After months and months of anticipation, it’s ACTUALLY happening now. The old portal will be no longer!
Here is everything that you need to know about this change over.
The important stuff
The new portal’s URL is: https://my.unimelb.edu.au
It will go live BY 5pm, Thursday 4th April 2013
What if I can’t log in to the new portal after 5pm?
Try resetting your password through the Accounts Management page here: https://accounts.unimelb.edu.au/manage/
Then click student, and fill out the form :)
Other info you should be aware of.
1. The pilot of the new portal (https://pilot-my.unimelb.edu.au) can be accessed UNTIL 8am, Thursday 4th April. After 8am, an outage page will go up on the pilot website.
And what we mean by ‘pilot’ is that, it’s just the testing website. It’s not the ‘real’ thing.
2. There will be re-directs on all URL’s that will take you to the new portal
3. You will be able to access the portal as per usual, EXCEPT for Gmail between 7am and 9am tomorrow (4th April). You can access gmail directly through here: https://sso.its.unimelb.edu.au
What about this single-sign-on thing?
Okay. So you know how when you’re on the portal, and whenever you click on the LMS or Library, it keeps asking you for your log in details? Well, the team working on the portal is working on it, but it won’t be available at this stage.
Someone. Help. Me. Please!
If you need a hand with the new portal, don’t stress. The Contact Centre will be open extended hours tomorrow, 5pm-7pm.
And the magic number is…13 6352
I’m hoping that the new portal will stop these annoying pop up things…
I’ve been working on my assignment today, and this message will not stop popping up on my screen. It’s like, I NEED MY PORTAL OPEN TO DO THIS ASSIGNMENT. STAHPPPP!
Big thanks to the mysterious fairies for developing the new portal!
Goodbye old portal. We won’t miss you :)
