Yes we have a new and shiny student portal. But for some of us, this change over may have cause a bit of drama.
If you are having trouble logging into the student portal, here are some troubleshooting methods:
1. Did you bookmark the portal to your favourites?
This was the issue for me! I bookmarked the portal to bypass the landing page, so I can just head straight to the log in screen to save time. And this was why I couldn’t log in to the portal!
Moral of story, access the portal through the my.unimelb.edu.au then click on the log on button. (Very annoying, I know.)
2. Reset your password
As much as you don’t want to, try resetting your password. Head over to https://accounts.unimelb.edu.au and change your password. (Don’t worry – you can always change it back to your original password later on)
2. Clear your cache and cookies
You can find instructions on how to do this here: http://www.bnl.gov/itd/webapps/browsercache.asp
3. Change your internet browser
What browser are you using? Safari?
Well try using Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer. Funnily enough, it seems that majority of uni system operate the best on IE. Which is so strange since IE is so rare nowadays and so ancient.
And if that STILL doesn’t work…
3. Call 13 MELB/Visit the IT help desk
Yep, just give 13 MELB a call. (13 6352 is the magic number)
Or if it’s more convenient for you, visit one of the IT helpdesks located in various libraries (ERC/Baillieu/Giblin Eunson)
Hope this blog post helps you!
